RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger is a 1/10 scale 4WD brushless crawler designed for technical trails, controlled climbs and scale off-road driving. The RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger combines a Hobbywing FOC brushless system with a two-speed transmission, DIG rear-axle function, selectable front-wheel drive and 4WD, portal axles, a remotely adjustable rear anti-roll bar and a built-in winch.

Integrated Hobbywing FOC Brushless System
The RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger uses an integrated Hobbywing FOC system that combines the ESC and 1800KV brushless motor in one compact unit. This layout reduces power-system size and weight while simplifying chassis packaging and wiring. The motor delivers strong low-speed torque, smooth linear throttle response and quiet operation for controlled crawling.
The integrated power system includes a 7.4V 3A BEC for high-voltage servos. Closed-loop torque and speed control support steady low-speed driving and controlled descents. Adjustable drag braking helps the RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger hold position on slopes; the maximum drag-brake force is approximately twice that of a conventional brushless system.
The power system has IP67 protection. ESC safeguards include low-voltage, overheat, throttle-signal-loss and stall protection. An LED programming box can be used to adjust ESC parameters through the dedicated setting interface.
Low-Center-of-Gravity Chassis and Two-Speed Transmission
The RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger features a low-center-of-gravity chassis with a reverse-drive layout, a #45 steel reduction shaft and metal transmission gears. Its two-speed transmission provides low and high gearing for technical crawling and faster trail sections.
The DIG system controls the rear-axle connection to help the RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger reduce its turning radius on tight lines. The drivetrain also supports selectable front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. The CNC aluminum T6 motor mount is compatible with 17T–21T pinions.
Portal Axles and Steel Drivetrain Components
The portal axles on the RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger use CNC spiral steel gears and powder-steel portal reduction gears. Brass front steering-mount covers add unsprung weight at the front axle to support the vehicle’s weight distribution during climbs.
Axle-mounted servos, C-caster design and impact-resistant nylon steering mounts complete the front and rear axle setup. Steel center CVD shafts and precision rubber-covered bearings support consistent power transfer through the all-metal gear drivetrain.
Five Metal-Gear Servos and Built-In Winch
The RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger uses five 7.4V splash-proof metal-gear servos. The steering servo is rated at 35kg. Its built-in winch uses a 25kg 360-degree metal-gear servo with a concealed line guide and a 90cm steel cable. The listed pulling capacity is up to 15kg on flat ground.
Three 7.4V 9g powder-steel-gear servos operate the RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger auxiliary functions.
Remotely Adjustable Rear Anti-Roll Bar
The rear anti-roll bar on the RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger can be connected or disconnected from the transmitter. When connected, it helps reduce body roll during turns. When disconnected, it allows greater suspension articulation over uneven terrain.
Large-Diameter Metal Shocks and Scale Details
The RGT EX86170 PRO Challenger is equipped with large-diameter metal shock absorbers and nano-coated shock shafts for a smooth suspension response and added surface protection. Electroplated scale-style wheel hubs and wider tires with deeper tread complete its crawler setup.
